Father of the AC Hotels by Marriott chain
The history of AC Hotels by Marriott begins in Spain. In 1997, Antonio Catalán – a visionary in the hotel industry – decided to create a hotel chain designed with modern travelers in mind. His initials form the core of the name, just as his concept led to the creation of an exceptional hotel chain. The first hotel of this chain opened its doors in Madrid in 1999.

The design philosophy was clear: no unnecessary embellishments, just thoughtful solutions that give guests exactly what they need. A minimalist palette of light, natural colors. Furniture with a simple form. Less is more. This is less we elevate at AC Hotels to the level of art – after all, minimalism requires the highest level of perfectionism.
